Leaving the highway behind, we enter the neighborhood that leads to the heart of Três Coroas, at the gateway to Vale do Paranhana. After a peaceful 3-kilometer journey along a paved road, we are welcomed by a quiet dirt road, flanked by a few houses hiding in the vast green countryside.
The valley narrows and the horizon is filled with mountains. We are arriving. To the left of the road, a billboard welcomes us: Brasil Raft Park. Upon crossing the porch, we are greeted by the rustic entrance, with its tall wooden gates pointing to the sky, surrounded by the vegetation that dominates much of the adventure park. Just beyond a strip of native forest, open fields unfold on both sides of the internal road.
At the end of the mountainous path, the street descends through a stretch of uneven basalt towards the foot of the valley. To the left, the open field gives way to the forest, which resumes its dominance. To the right, the mountain remains bare, except for some fruit trees that provide shade from the hot sun.
From the foot of the mountain, the river appears before us, vibrant and inviting. From the road to the parking lot to the banks of the Paranhana River, it is possible to admire the extensive lawn, which houses a football field, a volleyball court and even the base of the zipline, the last cable of a circuit of four that, together, provide more than 1,200 meters of pure adventure. From one side of the valley to the other, the canopy – a circuit of zip lines – crosses the river, connecting the mountains and offering an unparalleled aerial view.
We parked the car and went along the deck to the information desk, decorated with coconut trees and butterflies dancing on the ornamental flowers. The fresh forest air carries with it a sweet scent of spring. Bird singing brightens up Sunday mornings.
