CANOPY: THE THRILL OF SLIDING OVER THE TREETOPS

Traveling through the forest at high speed and viewing its magnitude from other angles make Canopy one of the most exciting and fun sports at Brazil Raft Park.

The Canopy consists of the art of sliding up to 65km/h over the treetops, between one platform and another using steel cables where you stay connected with more than half of the flora and fauna, as it is at heights that most of the animals and plants of the Atlantic Forest ecosystem live.

These are zip lines connecting large trees in the middle of the intact forest, all using sustainability, environmental conservation and safety methods, with good safety equipment and specialized monitors.

According to the most widespread version of the history of tree climbing, the sport emerged in the 1980s in Costa Rica, where scientists were researching the fauna and flora from above the trees and, to avoid constant climbs and descents, they decided to create a way to get from one branch to another.

This activity is recommended for a family outing, for children over 6 years old or over 1.2m, who like to participate in outdoor activities such as vertical techniques and activities at height. But it is not recommended for people with heart, spine or joint problems, who have a phobia of heights, or who have recently undergone some type of surgery or have any other medical restriction on physical activity. In this case, the guide must be communicated and the client will not be able to participate in the activity.
