The Park Like You’ve Never Seen It
In 18 years, a lot of water rolled down the rapids of the Paranhana River. And at Brasil Raft Park it was no different… In 2003, with the purchase of 10 hectares of land, we dreamed of building our own park and leaving Brasil Raft’s first operational base in Parque das Laranjeiras. It took many years of planning, sweat and hard work. After some time, the dream came true and the park was born. We have separated some photographic moments from this walk for another special anniversary article. Travel through time with us…
The valley as a witness
In the background, the Paranhana Valley observes the beginning of the adventure. Tractors tear up the dirt floor and create a path. The city of Gramado appears at the edge of the horizon. Even today, near the entrance guardhouse, a bamboo grove and a water fountain mark the place where it all began. Adventurers, welcome!
In the middle of the path there were many stones…
The path is open, the works are announced along the road. A world of adventures awaits us there… Our park ranger Renê (Tchaca, for those close to him…) prepared a game for park visitors. He carved beautiful stone monuments that can be seen along the way…
A park and many levels…
The terrain of the park is quite rugged, with altitudes that fit perfectly into each itinerary. Up there, in the background, you can see the base structure and cables for the Canopy and the Zipline. At this point on the road, we will descend to the level of the Paranhana River where the rafting descents take place. Slight right turn, go around the fence and slowly go down to enjoy the view…
Remember that the house is yours…
Do you see a family here? This is a river story, but not a fisherman’s story… One day, a friendly duck began to be seen by the rafting instructors. Day after day, the duck was present in various stretches of the river until… it decided to adopt the park as its home. He went in and stayed there. We provided a pond and a companion for him. In a short time, the family grew and is now part of the park…
Welcome to the Customer Service Center!
In 2003, there was only a dirt trail and the lush Atlantic Forest in the background. We planned our plant in such a way as to have as little impact on the surrounding vegetation as possible. Today, a mud wall leads to the Brasil Raft Park Customer Service Center. To the left, bathrooms and our event room. On the right, the restaurant and pantry.
Take a deep breath and fly
At this point, the Canopy and Zipline adventurers begin the itinerary. Up there, at the top, the cable structure and the starting platform for the adventures are installed. But, to fly, you have to face the steep climb until you reach the base. For those who hesitated for a second, here’s a tip. The reward for the unforgettable flight over the Paranhana Valley is very worth it…
Break to cool off
When it comes to rafting, this is the place for a refreshing swim in the waters of Paranhana. Twelve years later, the vegetation on the banks of the river maintains the same exuberance and colors. The waters of Paranhana are renewed every second. Just as you can’t enter the same river twice, you won’t be the same after the rafting adventure…
